"Can I be part of the Accreditation Scheme?"

The Accreditation Scheme is open to all student landlords whose properties do not have to be licensed under the new regulations. To join the Accreditation Scheme, a landlord and/or his agent will need to follow the Code of Conduct. All HMO properties must also adhere to all the safety regulations laid out by Canterbury City Council’s guidelines. If you meet the requirements you should register and add your property details to be part of the Accreditation Scheme. You only need to register once. You can add properties straight away, one at a time or at a later stage. Click the following link to register your properties.

Licensed properties will be automatically passported into the accreditation scheme in December.

If you think that you could be Canterbury's best accredited landlord, or you are renting from an accredited landlord who is brilliant, you should make sure you enter our Landlord of the Year competition!


"What's in it for me?"

The Accreditation Scheme aims to give professional, reliable landlords credit and give them a market advantage by distinguishing their properties from the rest. Only accredited houses are being marketed by University Accomodation offices.

Note: The accreditation scheme should be used alongside your normal advertising. The accreditation site will not market your properties, and viewing details will not be available to students using the site. Students will use the scheme as a back up to check that houses they are viewing/living in are accredited. The site will not publicise whether a property is available.
